Written by Thomas Watson
Sunday, 07 September 2008
The second of two public hearings regarding the proposed 2008-09 county property tax rate will be held on Monday, Sept. 8, at 9 a.m., during the regular meeting of the Nolan County Commissioners.
The proposed tax rate for the new fiscal year is .35752 cents per $100 valuation. The current tax rate is approximately .4053 cents per $100 valuation, a difference of about a nickel. The first hearing was held during the previous meeting of the commissioners, at which time no public comments were raised.
After the hearing, commissioners will set a date for a vote on the proposed tax rate.
Other items on the agenda include:
• Consider approval to appoint a Nolan County Juvenile board member.
• Consider approval of the holiday schedule for 2009.
• Consider approval of an appointment to the Nolan County Coliseum Board.
