The Sweetwater Jaycees have started decorating for their haunted house event, dubbed "A Nightmare on 4th Street," to be held this Halloween at the Jaycee's Barn located at 307 W. 4th Street.
The haunted house will be open from 8 p.m. to midnight on Friday, Oct. 31, and Saturday, Nov. 1. Admission fees for the event will be $5 per adult and $3 for children 12 and under. "We've got nine different rooms in the haunted house being prepared right now," said Jaycee Julie Hurn, "Each room is going to have a different theme, and the whole thing will feel like a maze." The Jaycees Rooster club will hold a meeting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at the Jaycees Barn to discuss several items, including the haunted house. "We've got several different groups participating right now," added Hurn, "The Roosters are doing their own room; some other Jaycees are doing their own room, but we really want more people to come out and get involved. We want this to be a special event for all the kids in Sweetwater." Several volunteers have already started decorating for the event, but more participants would be greatly appreciated. If interested in decorating the haunted house or helping out with the event, visit the Jaycees Barn or contact Gary Armstrong at 235-4110. |
