Shown above is a Trent Volunteer Fire Department fire truck putting out a grass fire yesterday that reportedly started when a man was operating a piece of machinery. The Sweetwater Fire Department assisted Trent VFD with putting out the flames. Approximately 30 acres were burned and the rancher had plowed around the field to help contain the fire. The SFD was on scene about an hour. According to the weather service, this week is supposed to be some of the most severe fire weather Nolan County has seen this season. Sweetwater Emergency Services Director Grant Madden urges the people of Nolan County to use caution when doing things outdoors.
