Written by Grant Madden

Shown above is a Roscoe Fire Department brush truck fighting a Nolan County fire on CR 111 and CR 146. Firefighters fought the blaze that began around midnight on Monday. The fire was put out, but rekindled with yesterday's winds. On the scene were three Roscoe Fire Department trucks, one truck from Maryneal Volunteer Fire Department, two trucks from Loraine Fire Department and three Sweetwater Fire Department trucks. Sweetwater firefighters also battled a blaze behind Bradford Lane yesterday afternoon. Nolan County commissioners recently reinstated a burn ban for the county. Residents are reminded to take caution as vegetation is still dry and winds are still high.
