Sweetwater city commission to meet on Tuesday |

The Sweetwater City Commission will meet in regular session at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, in the City Commission Room of City Hall, 200 E. 4th Street.
Action items include the following: A. Oath of Office to be administered to Mayor Gregory Wortham, City Commissioner Larry May Precinct 1 and City Commissioner Ricky Castro, Precinct 3. B.City Commission to consider adopting a Resolution appointing Mayors Pro-Tem for the City of Sweetwater and prescribing the terms thereof. C. City Commission to consider approval of the Mid Year Agreed Upon Procedures Report for the period ended March 31 2009 as prepared by Cathrine Wilks, Certified Public Accountant. D. City Commission to open and consider bids on tractor shredder for Parks Department. E. City Commission to consider approval of Change Order #6 on High Service Pum Station construction project. F. City Commission to consider approval of an Interlocal Agreement between the City of Sweetwater and the City of Trent whereby the City of Trent shall transfer a certain water pipeline permanently to the City of Sweetwater and the City of Trent shall remail a water customer of the City of Sweetwater and will not contract for water delivered from the west of Trent without approval of the City of Sweetwater. G. City Commission to consider approval of the 2009 Sweetwater Fire Department and Ambulance Service Regulations and Operating Procedures as approved by the Civil Service Commission on April 16, 2009. H. City Commission to consider entering into a PUblic Hearing to consider the Planning and Zoning Commission recommendation concerning a request to re-zone Lot 10, Block 24, Fairview Heights Addition from a "B" Dwelling District to a "G" Local Business District. Said address is more commonly known as 1116 Presidio Street. I. City Commission to consider closing the Public Hearing and returning to regular session. J. City Commission to consider the Planning an Zoning Commission recommendation concerning a request to re-zone Lot 10, Block 24, Fairview Heights Addition from a "B" dwelling District to a "G" Local Business District. Said address is more commonly known as 1116 Presidio Street. The public will be able to voice their input before the city manager's report. Items on the city manager's report include the following: A. Move the city commission meeting from June 9, 2009 to either June 2, 2009 or June 16, 2009. B. Remind City Commission of budget retreat meeting May 13, 2009, at 8 a.m. at the Water Treatment Plant. C. City staff met with ATMOS gas officials April 22, 2009, and discussed safety issues, projects they are doing and planning, street cuts and repairs and other issues. D. City staff met with TxDot officials April 29, 2009, and discussed TxDot projects, maintenance agreement and other issues. Meetings are being scheduled on a quarterly basis to be informed. E. City manager Eddie Brown the Texas City Manager's Association meeting in Odessa on Friday, May 1, 2009. He will be serving as the President of Region 2 for 2009-2010. F. City manager has passed out Conflicts Disclosure Statements to local government officers. Review them and file with the city secretary if necessary.
