The Leadership Sweetwater class of 2008-2009 graduated Wednesday during a ceremony held at Texas State Technical College. The graduates were treated to a dinner provided by TSTC, a video presentation and the awarding of their certificates. Leadership Sweetwater is designed to cultivate leadership skills and educate current and future community leaders through a serious approach which involves the shared counsel of knowledgeable speakers complemented by providing interesting and exciting opportunities both locally and beyond the Sweetwater community. In addition, Leadership Sweetwater participants had the chance to travel to Austin for first-hand experience in the inner workings of state government and also made a trip to Dyess Air Force Base to learn about U.S. military preparedness.
