The festivities for the Fourth of July are coming together. The parade route has been set, festivities are scheduled, all that's left is for the community to come out and have fun and enjoy the celebration.
Liberty Fest is packed full of fun and entertainment for the whole family this year. Starting at 10 a.m., there will be vender booths set up inside Newman Park. If you would like to have a booth call the Chamber at 325-235-5488. They are accepting booths until July 2. There will also be a jump castle set up from 1-7 p.m. for the kids. Swimming will be free that day and lunch will be provided for the swimmers by Dr. Larry and Lita McEachern. Also, the celebration parade will start at 7:45 p.m. and will go along the path from Elm Street to Newman Park. Line up for the parade is at 7:15 p.m., in the North parking lot of the Nolan County Courthouse. This year there will be Sweetwater Police patrolling the park. No fireworks are allowed to be set off inside the park or the city limits. Anyone caught setting off their own fireworks will be given a ticket and fined. "We want to encourage the community to come out, have fun and enjoy watching our fireworks," said Jacque McCoy, Executive Director of Chamber of Commerce. There will be no parking in front of the coliseum. For more information or to make a donation contact the Chamber of Commerce at 325-235-5488 or mail your donation to P.O. Box 1148, Sweetwater, Texas 79556. All donations will go to the fireworks. |
