Crisp, Nurse Practitioner, joins Eaker Family Medicine |

Marcie Crisp, Family Nurse Practitioner, has joined the practice of Robert Eaker, M.D. “I have worked with Dr. Eaker over the last year as a student and have seen the high quality healthcare he provides to his patients. I am very excited to be joining him,” Crisp stated. “A question I am frequently asked is, 'What is a Nurse Practitioner?' A Nurse Practitioner is a registered nurse with advanced training that provides high quality health care services similar to that of a doctor. Nurse Practitioners diagnose and treat a wide range of health problems in collaboration with a physician. There are several different types of Nurse Practitioners. My specialty is family practice and I can see a wide variety of patients from newborn to old age.”
Crisp is not new to Sweetwater. She moved here in 1992 along with her parents Jackie and Dianne Trent and attended Sweetwater schools, graduating in 2002 from Sweetwater High School. After high school, she moved to Lubbock and in 2005 graduated from South Plains College in Levelland, Texas with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing. During that time she was named Who’s Who Among American Junior Colleges. In 2007, Crisp graduated Magna Cum Laude from Lubbock Christian University in Lubbock, Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She has been employed by Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital since 2006 and graduated in August 2009 from Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, Texas with a Master of Science in Nursing, and during that time was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Crisp has recently received her certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, scoring in the top 2% on the national certification examination. She also holds numerous certifications in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and is a Certified Emergency Nurse. Crisp is currently President of the Big Country Advanced Practice Nurses’ Association and maintains membership to the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the Texas Nurse Practitioner’s Association, and the Emergency Nurses Association. Crisp lives in Sweetwater with her husband Curt and 4-year-old son Connor.
"Adding Marcie to my practice has allowed me to re-open to new patients, something I haven't been able to do in over three years. Marcie is able to provide healthcare services for a large variety of patients, including women's health issues, such as birth control management and yearly well woman exams. Many women feel more comfortable talking about these issues with a woman, just as many men prefer talking about their problems with a man." Dr. Eaker said. Eaker has been in Sweetwater for over four years. "I am excited about expanding my practice and offering new and more readily accessible services to my patients." Eaker said.
Eaker Family Medicine is located at 301 Jenny George Lane in Sweetwater, across the parking lot from Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital ER. The office telephone number is 235-0770. Services offered by the practice include sick visits, well visits, women health services and many more. Eaker Family Medicine is currently accepting most new patients and insurance assignments. |
