Fire safety will be one less thing to worry about at the Nolan County Coliseum and Annex.
Total Fire and Safety placed the winning bid, to install the new fire alarm automated system. The contracts will be drawn up and before long, the coliseum will be equipped with fire safety features. With cooler temperatures and the changing weather, the burn ban remains off for Nolan County. The burn ban will be reconsidered in two weeks. Before the meeting adjourned, the commissioners' court was reminded of the upcoming Veteran's Day. As of 2008 figures, there were 1,226 veteran's in the Nolan County area. On top of their service to their country, they are still making contributions to the community. The VINE automated victim notification services was renewed for another year. This service allows victims to check on the status of their attackers and see if they have been released or are still serving their sentence. Retiree benefits will still be offered and available through County Choice Silver, with Texas Association of Counties. The next meeting will be Nov. 9, 2009, in the Nolan County Courthouse. |
