The Sweetwater-Nolan County Health Department has scheduled a “special clinic” on Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, to administer the H1N1 vaccine from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1-4 p.m.
The priority groups to be vaccinated during this clinic are: • Infants 6 months to 23 months old. • Caregivers of infants less than 6 months old. • Household contacts of infants less than 6 months old. The health department currently has a limited amount of both vaccines. • Intranasal vaccine (live attenuated vaccine). • Injectable vaccine (inactivated vaccine). The health department does not have any preservative free vaccine. Only persons living in Nolan and Fisher counties will be eligible for vaccine during this clinic. Health care workers, EMS personnel, pregnant women, 2, 3, and 4 year-olds who missed the clinics held last week or who were unable to receive the intranasal vaccine may come in on this day to receive H1N1 vaccine. The supply of each type vaccine is very limited; the Sweetwater-Nolan County Health Department will recommend the appropriate vaccine for each client according to the Center for Disease Control Recommendations. |
