Sweetwater firefighters distributed Goodfellows drop boxes at several locations on Tuesday. The boxes were placed at Sweetwater High School, Sweetwater Middle School, Sweetwater Intermediate School, Southeast Elementary School, East Ridge Elementary School, J.P. Cowen Early Childhood Center, TA Travel Center, Radio Shack/Higginbotham's and Sweetwater Reporter. Shown above are Fire Chief Grant Madden, Todd Donham, Richard Acuña and Riley Coalson. The Sweetwater Goodfellows distributes food and toys to those in need in the community during the holiday season. According to organizers, the Sweetwater Goodfellows needs more than usual in the line of food. Donations may be taken to any drop box or to the Central Fire Station. Several schools hold toy and food drives to benefit the Goodfellows. The Sweetwater Goodfellows will be accepting applications to provide food and toys to needy families during the Christmas season. Those interested may apply ay the Sweetwater Fire Station Nov. 4, 5 and 6, from 9 a.m. to noon and 1-3 p.m. Those applying should bring pay stubs, approval of TANF, approval of food stamps and birth certificates for all children.
