Lorance Jewell Wilburn

Funeral services for Lorance Jewell Wilburn, 78, of Abilene and formerly of Sweetwater, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Match 9, 2010, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Nicky Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, March 8, 2010, at McCoy Funeral Home.
Wilburn died Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
She was born Oct. 31, 1931, in Ira, TX. She married L.R. "Ish" Wilburn June 5, 1961, in Sweetwater. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Abilene. She lived in Abilene since 1978, moving from Sweetwater. She grew up in Ira and Snyder in her early years. She loved playing the guitar at church and at the prison. She was also a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, L.R. "Ish" Wilburn of Abilene; two daughters, Carolyn Hale and husband Montie of Sweetwater and Elaine Kimes of Abilene; three sons, Keith Wilburn and wife Tammy of Merkel, James Tyree and wife Jamie of Clyde and Tommy Kimes of Novice; one brother, Loyd Wayne Pinkerton of Snyder; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two husbands; her parents; and nine brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be Michael House, Wade Lawson, Kole Wilburn, Terry Tyree, Tommy Woods and Don Vann.
Honorary pallbearer will be Jake March.
