WASP museum sets annual homecoming
Written by Staff Reports
Monday, 24 March 2008
The National WWII WASP Museum will host its annual open house, barbecue dinner, and Memorial Flag ceremony Saturday, May 24.

The open house will begin at 10 a.m. with WASP movies, activities for children, and displays by living historians and collectors. Historic aircraft owners are encouraged to fly in for the day to nearby Avenger Field.
“Miss Ziggy,” an L-5 piloted by Charlie Wood, is already scheduled to be part of the event.
The tentative evening event speaker is Nicole Malachowski, a major in the U.S. Air Force, the first female Thunderbird pilot.
The barbecue dinner will begin at 7 p.m., followed by a Memorial Flag ceremony at sunset.
Big Band music provided by the Sweetwater Municipal Band will follow. Dance or dream the night away listening to the big band tunes of the 1940s. Enjoy soloist Lori Ortega and a special appearance by “The Andrews Sisters.”
Dinner is $10 for WASPs, $20 for museum members, and $25 for non-members.   Table sponsorships are available for $200 and $250.
You may send dinner reservations with your check payable to the National WASP WWII Museum, P.O. Box 456, Sweetwater, Texas 79556.
