A burn ban which was lifted two weeks ago could be put back into effect when Nolan County commissioners hold their regular meeting at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the county courthouse. The burn ban was lifted by commissioners at their May 12 meeting following a request by fire chief Grant Madden, who told the group at the meeting that “a lot of people have been begging the local and volunteer fire departments to allow them to burn again.” The earlier ban had been issued by County Judge Tim Fambrough and commissioners in April. Other items on Tuesday’s agenda include:
— approval of a bond for sheriff Donnie Rannefeld; — approval of a waiver of local match fund participation with the Texas Department of Transportation on the Seale Creek bridge in Precinct 4; — review of the investment policy for Nolan County; — opening of bids for property in the city of Roscoe, paving materials, crushed rock and pea gravel and two dump trucks; — approval to allow the accrual of one day of vacation time for an employee in Precinct 4 for the month of April. — approval of a request from the county clerk to hire a part-time employee to be paid from records management funds. |
