Lake Sweetwater has risen nearly three feet in the past month after experiencing heavy rain twice in the past week. The lake has received over seven inches of rain — 7.11 to be exact — since this past weekend, according to the latest report from the city water department, and is now just 10 inches below the spillway. The report shows that the lake received 4.83 inches over a 24-hour period on Tuesday and its water level rose by two feet. That came after the lake received 2.28 inches during the Memorial Day weekend that ended Monday. Lake Sweetwater has now received 8.66 inches of rain for May, and 13.58 inches for the first five months of the year.
Lake Trammell received 3.40 inches of rain on Tuesday, giving it 4.75 inches for the month and 8.75 inches for the year. The lake failed to experience a rise, however, remaining 4 feet, 1 inch below the spillway. But Oak Creek Lake experienced a slight two-inch rise after receiving 1.30 inches of rain Tuesday, giving it 2.46 inches for May and 8.51 inches for the year. The lake is just 11 inches below the spillway. The wastewater plant received four inches of rain Tuesday, giving it 5.83 inches for the month and 10.69 inches for the year. The well field pump station reported 3.30 inches Tuesday, 5.60 inches for May and 10.81 inches for the year; the filter plant reported 2.90 inches Tuesday, 5.69 inches for the month and 10.99 inches for the year; County Road 151 reported 1.40 inches Tuesday, 3.28 inches for the month and 7.53 inches for the year; and Booster B reported 1.15 inches of rain Tuesday, 1.87 inches for the month and 6.07 inches for the year. |
