Graveside services for Wanda Jhynelle Brumfield, 90, of Sweetwater will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Garden of Memories Cemetery, with the Rev. James Baker officiating and McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be held at McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater on Monday, June 6, 2011 from 6-7:30 p.m.
Mrs. Brumfield died Sunday, June 5, 2011 at Sweetwater Healthcare.
She was born May 8, 1921, and she married Harman Vernon Brumfield in Sweetwater on Oct. 31, 1942. Jhynelle was born in Palava, Texas and lived in the area most of her life except for one year in California and one year in Fort Worth. She was a member of Broadway Baptist Church. She worked for the Roby Gin as a bookkeeper for many years and then at the Sweetwater school district as a teacher's aide in the special ed department until retiring in 1986.
Survivors include one son, Dan Brumfield and wife Shirley J. of Trent; one daughter, Sue Schlueter and husband Dwayne of Trent; four grandchildren, Dana Selbert and husband Bob of Merkel, Shawn Schlueter and wife Brandy of Buffalo Gap, Shad Schlueter and wife Cynthia of Lockney and Shannon Schlueter and wife Jessica of Harrisburg, N.C.; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harman Vernon Brumfield, on May 16, 2009, and by her parents, James Newton and Julia Belle Allen.
