Funeral services for Wanda Lee “Wootie” Lemmons, 70, of Sweetwater, will be at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. TJ Jackson and Rev. Robert Carey officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
A wake will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at McCoy Funeral Home.
Lemmons died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
She married Charles Lemmons on Aug. 16, 1958, in Sweetwater. Wanda loved her family and friends very much. She was a member of Mount Rose Baptist Church (TJ Jackson), loved shopping, cooking, football, dancing, music and television.
Survivors include her children, Karen Lemmons-Hocker of Midland, Natalie Lemmons of San Francisco, Calif., Lisa Lemmons of San Francisco, Calif. and Charles Lemmons, Jr. of San Francisco, Calif.; Her mother, Birdie Walker-Wright of Sweetwater; sisters, Linda Sweet and husband Rev. Robert Sweet of Sweetwater and Melma Johnson of Sweetwater; brother, Clarence Wright of Sweetwater; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lemmons; her father, Charlie Wright; brothers, Charlie Wright, Jr., Albert Wright and Thomas Earl Wright.
Pallbearers will be Tony Atkins, Bobby Atkins, Anthony Castro, Roy Johnson, Michael Richardson and Darby Williams.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Chris Hocker, Roderick Brown, Andrew Brown, Tony Leyba and Quincy Garrett.
