Wanda Ruth Stubblefield Hodo

Trent — Wanda Ruth Stubblefield Hodo, 82, died Friday, July 22, 2011 in Abilene, TX. Wanda was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother “Grannie”. Services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 25, at the McCaulley Methodist Church with Reverend J.W. Raney officiating. Burial will be in the Newman Cemetery, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home of Merkel.
Wanda was born Feb. 4, 1929, in O’Donnell to Clarence William and Delia (Halcomb) Stubblefield. She met Mack Hodo, the love of her life, at a drugstore soda fountain, where she served him a milkshake. The two have been inseparable ever since. They married June 7, 1947 in Lamesa, TX. After marriage Mack and Wanda relocated to Fisher County where they have resided on Sweetwater Creek since the fall of 1952. There they farmed and raised cattle.
Wanda was a farmer, seamstress, quilter, homemaker and an awesome cook among other things. She will forever be remembered for her enduring patience, consideration, kind disposition and positive outlook on life. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Wanda is survived by her husband, Mack Hodo of Trent; her daughter, Barbara Hodo Maberry and husband Al of McCaulley; grandson, Louis Maberry of Gainesville; granddaughter, Lacy Maberry Wolff and great-grandsons, Jackson and Dane Wolff all of Vicenza, Italy; and also one brother, C.W. Stubblefield and wife Joyce of Canyon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Dall and Charlie Stubblefield.
