Wanda Straley, 65, of Sweetwater, passed away at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital on Thursday, June 23, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 27, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Kevin Shipp and Richard Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow in the Loraine Cemetery beside her husband, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
There will be a family visitation Sunday evening, June 26, from 6-8 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home.
Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Ferguson and husband Richard of Sweetwater and LeAnn Runge of Sweetwater; four sons, David Shumaker, Willie Shumaker, Bobby Straley and Rudy Montemayor, all of Sweetwater. Also surviving is a brother Junior Eiler and wife Peggy of Odessa, TX; and a sister, Margaret Davis of Abilene; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Straley was born in Loraine, TX on July 18, 1945. She married Bobby C. Straley Aug. 22, 1968 in Big Spring, TX.
She lived in Sweetwater most of her life except for 10 years in Baird, TX. She had worked as a seamstress at Walls for 10 years and worked for Southwest Canvas in Sweetwater for 20 years. She was a Baptist.
Pallbearers will be Michael Straley, Jeffery Straley, Scott Lambert, Andy Taylor, Jasen Wells, Pete Hearn, Donnie Smith, Jamie Dotson and D.J. Shumaker.
