Funeral services for Warren L. Martindale, 91, of Fisher County, Texas, was held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2012, at First Christian Church with Rev. Curtis Ward officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Ben Richey's Boys Ranch of West Texas Rehabilitation Center.
Martindale died Tuesday, April 17, 2012, in Sweetwater, Texas.
He was born on Nov. 21, 1920, in Haskell, Texas. He married Winnie Thelma Kinney on May 13, 1943. Warren lived in the Sweetwater area most of his life and was a member of First Christian Church in Sweetwater. He was a WWII Army Veteran and was a communications technician for AT&T and Southwestern Bell, working for 41 years.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Kinney Martindale of Sweetwater; daughter, Jean Ann Bland and husband Jerry of Bedias, TX; brother, Roy Martindale of Amarillo; two sisters, including Joyce Sims of Oklahoma; three grandsons, Monty Baker of Abilene, David Baker of Sweetwater and Jerry Lynn Bland of Houston, TX; granddaughter, Christine Bland Safford of Bedias, TX; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Lummie Martindale; a daughter, Linda Sue Martindale Baker on Dec. 3, 1980; and brother, David Martindale.
