Broadway Baptist Church
I remember reading a story long ago about a little girl who came home from school all excited saying, “Mommy, today, we learned about Sleeping Beauty.” The mom replied, “Really, I remember that story. They lived happily ever after.” “No mommy, they got married!” exclaimed the little girl.
This past week I had the privilege of helping my parents celebrate 60 years of marriage. “60 years!” I teased, “That’s longer than most people live.” It was a wonderful time as family and friends gathered to congratulate them. During the ceremony we played the song, “If You Want to Know What Love Is, Look at Us”.Â
How does a couple stay married 60 years? How can your marriage stay strong? What is the secret of “true love”? This Saturday we will host a “Marriage Matters” seminar from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with Jerry Thorpe. You will find the answers to these and many more questions regarding marriage. I want to personally invite you and your spouse to come and allow God to grow your relationship.
Evangelist Jerry Thorpe will also be our guest speaker on Sunday, the 12th. We are looking forward to a great Lord’s Day and would love for you to come and be our guest as well. Our Life Groups, which is for all ages, starts at 10 a.m. Our morning service is at 10:50 a.m., and our evening service begins at 6 p.m. Come and let us be a blessing to you as we worship the Lord together.

The Sunday morning worship times for Emmanuel Fellowship Church are 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Both morning services are filled with the same warm fellowship, dynamic worship and life-giving messages. The 9 a.m. service offers a pre-school nursery for parents of small children. The 11 a.m. service offers top-notch children’s ministry and nursery care for children up to fifth grade. We invite you to come and experience the life, love and joy of Emmanuel Fellowship Church. For more information about the ministry of EFC, log onto the church website at www.efcsweetwater.com.

First United Methodist Church
Sweetwater First United Methodist Church wants to invite you to join us on Sunday mornings to worship and praise our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The United Methodist Church is open to all persons and is a place where all are welcome and encouraged to “come as you are” with the expectation that by the grace of God you will leave different. The change that a relationship with Christ brings about is a life-changing encounter and we believe that while God accepts us as we are He loves us enough not to leave us in our sins. We believe that Scripture informs all aspects of our lives and should be our rule and authority.
The first service begins at 8:45 a.m. and is built around a traditional model with great hymns of the church. This service uses a more liturgical framework and often employs a wonderful choir.
Immediately following the first service we have Sunday school classes for all ages and stages of life. We invite you to try one of our many opportunities to come together and seek God in small groups that emphasize God’s Word and proclaim His glory.
At 10:50 a.m. we have a second worship service that has a decidedly contemporary flavor and incorporates more of progressive style and pace. This second service also has a children’s time and “Children’s Church” for kids in preschool through second grade.

Every Tuesday and Wednesday FUMC hosts the Gaylord’s Pantry and a clothes closet from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Please enter through the North (4th street) entrance if you would like to receive God’s blessing through either of these ministries.
News this week: This Sunday Pastor Brian will be preaching from Luke 6. The sermon is titled: Blessings and Woes? Come hear how Jesus turns our conception of blessings (and woes) around. On Feb. 19, we will be highlighting the food pantry ministry and honoring two of its founding members, Gaylord Williams and Artie Harris.
The youth will be watching the movie Courageous this Sunday (Feb. 12) and then the guys will begin an eight-week study based on the film while the girls will be doing a Bible study on the book of James. We will also be offering the Courageous study for men beginning in late February.

TRINITY BAPTIST CHURCH
Sunday’s worship service was a great example of Christ’s love and fellowship here at Trinity. If you would like to experience it, too, we invite you to worship with us. Our casual, friendly, family atmosphere with both traditional and contemporary music makes our church an easy place to “fit in”. We are located at the corner of Hailey and Santa Fe Streets, where you will see our new Family Life Center being built.
Bro. Kyle Tubbs, our Associate Pastor and Youth Minister, was the lucky soul who got to kiss Lucinda the pig on the snout last Sunday during our Super Sunday festivities. Bro. Ward Hayes, our Senior Pastor, also enjoyed the honor of kissing Lucinda on the head. Trinity has sponsored a contest the past few weeks with the person receiving the most monetary donations to the Mission Fund getting to kiss the pig. We raised almost $1,200 for our summer mission trip through this fun activity. We also enjoyed an afternoon of flag football in the Bowl. Several of our members are older than they thought they were (pulled muscles, etc.). And some are smaller than they thought they were, especially when they came face-to-face with big teenage boys! Thanks to all who participated!
Children’s Church for kids ages 3-5 is held during worship on Sunday mornings. We are pleased to offer wireless hearing assistance for those who need it during worship. Just see any of the ushers to request a unit.
Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m. followed by worship services at 10:45 a.m. each Sunday. This Sunday we continue with testimonies from our different Sunday school classes as they share about what their class means to them.
Sunday evenings (at 6 p.m.) are dedicated to Bible study for adults and youth with M&M’s Children’s Choir for grade-school children. Wednesday evenings, adults meet at 6:30 p.m. in the sanctuary for Trinity Power Plant (our weekly prayer time). At the same time, children enjoy TeamKID and our youth meet for Bible study in the youth room. There’s a place for all ages, nursery to senior adults and all ages in between. Bring your family and come see what’s going on here as we serve our Lord!
This Sunday afternoon is filled with meetings of all kinds. The Ladies’ Retreat Team meets at 3 p.m. followed by Sunday school teacher meetings at 4 p.m. (Adults) and 5 p.m. (Children). Budget and Finance Committee meets at 5 p.m., with Deacons meeting at 7 p.m.
Our current church-wide Bible study, Crazy Love by Francis Chan, concludes this Sunday evening at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary. Stay tuned for information on our next church-wide Bible study.

DivorceCare continues weekly on Tuesday evenings from 6-7:30 p.m. upstairs in our youth room (which can be accessed using the outside stairs on the west side of our facility). Taught by Donnie Armstrong, the 13-week session is stand-alone, meaning that the session can be joined at any time. The only cost is a $15 workbook; however, scholarships are available, so please do not let the cost of a workbook keep you from attending! Child care is also available. For more information or registration, please call our church office at 235-2991, or send an email to email@example.com. To find out more about this opportunity, you can also visit the DC website at www.divorcecare.org.
On Tuesday, Feb. 14, Trinity is pleased to host BSM at TSTC during the lunch hour. Baptist Student Ministry is a way for us to interact with TSTC students who love the Lord. Also on Tuesday evening, Feb. 14, the Seekers Sunday School Class will have their monthly game night.

This information will change your life! There is no fee for the course other than a $99 member kit which can be purchased online. Partial scholarships are available if needed. Childcare is also available. To register, please call the church office at 235-2991 or email Gretchen Jones at firstname.lastname@example.org.Â
