This Week's Sweetwater Spotlight Citizen

This week’s Sweet-water Spotlight Citizen is Crystal Meneses. Crystal was born in Abilene, and grew up in Sweetwater, she is a 2004 graduate of Sweetwater High School. Crystal attended college at Hardin Simmons University in Abilene where she got a Bachelors in interdisciplinary studies. She also has a Masters in Counseling, as well as her Principal and Superintendent certifications.
Crystal is currently the Principal of J.P. Cowen Early Childhood Center. She has been with SISD for 10 years. Crystal has also been a secretary at a trucking company, and a camp counselor at Camp Butman for grades K-12. She also teaches Zumba and Drum Cardio at RPMH. In her very little spare time she enjoys singing, dancing, watching movies, and spending time with friends and family. She is also a member of Kiwanis Club.
Something many people don’t know about her is she has been crowned Miss North Texas (2007), Miss Lone Star State (2009), and University Homecoming Queen at Hardin Simmons (2008).
Meneses is a very active Christian. She attend Bethel Assembly of Sweetwater, as well as being apart of many different bible studies at several churches.
Crystal has a small, but extremely close family. Her grandmother has 1st stages of dementia and in a wheel chair, so she spends as much time as she can with her. She is also very close with her mother, Anna.
Crystal’s favorite “Sweetwater memory” is cheering at playoff games while in high school. When asked the benefits of living in Sweetwater she replied “ everything is a within a five mile radius” and she loves because it is “a small town, and a very supportive community!”
