Tuesday, September 10 was declared Wes Bishop Day through the reading of a proclamation by Sweetwater Mayor Greg Wortham.
The proclamation listed Bishop’s work in establishing the first physical therapy at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital in 1977 and for improving the quality of life for many within Nolan County for almost 37 years. Through youth sports, volunteer contributions, service as a SISD (Sweetwater Independent School District) school board trustee, and his ministry within 4th and Elm Church of Christ, the city expressed their appreciation toward all of Bishop’s accomplishments and urged citizens to celebrate and honor his civic contributions.
