The West Texas Innovation Network is co-sponsoring an Entrepreneur Boot Camp to assist new business start-ups. The boot camp will be held Friday, August 10, 2012, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hunter Welcome Center on the Abilene Christian University (ACU) campus.
The program will consist of speakers from ACU faculty, successful entrepreneurs and experienced business professionals. The focus will be to apply ideas and concepts to the ventures being started by those in attendance. Specific topics will include attributes of successful entrepreneurs, assessing your readiness as an entrepreneur, recognizing and evaluating opportunities, business model design, legal concerns for start-ups and building the right team.
The boot camp is intended for three targeted audiences.
1. Those individuals who have thought about starting their own ventures, but may be looking for the right idea.
2. Entrepreneurs who have an idea for a new venture and are preparing to launch, but need some help either in refining their concept or management team development.
3. Entrepreneurs who have launched a venture and are still in the early stages, yet find themselves struggling with aspects of the business or finding a suitable business model.
