Funeral services for Zula E. Hunt, 91, of Sweetwater, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Donald Hunt and Rev. Danny Cook officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater.
Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2013 at McCoy Funeral Home.
Hunt died Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at Nolan Nursing and Rehab in Sweetwater.
She was born Feb. 2, 1922 in Sommerset, Kentucky. She married Oscar E. Hunt on Nov. 10, 1945 in Sommerset, KY. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. She worked and retired from Sweetwater ISD High School Cafeteria. She had worked in Ohio for the U. S. Defense Plant and air plane factory during the WWII. She has lived in Sweetwater for 65 years.
Survivors include one son, Donald Hunt and wife Carol of Sweetwater; daughter, Catherine Rebecca Cook and husband Danny of Kilgore, TX; two brothers, Hobert Tomlinson of Abilene and Hubert Tomlinson and wife Barb of Akron, Ohio; five grandchildren, Kimberly McKinney and husband Donnie of Sweetwater, Kevin Cook and wife Kelly of Alexandria, LA, Kendall Cook and wife Allison of Kodiak, Alaska, Ron Hunt of Sulphur Springs and Ricky Hunt of Sulphur Springs; and seven great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Hunt on Feb. 20, 1975; and by one of her twin sons, Ronald Gene Hunt on June 24, 2006.
Pallbearers will be Kimberly McKinney, Donnie McKinney, Michallah McKinney, Kevin Cook, Ashleigh McKinney, Jack Pinkerton and Tommy Langsford.
