Funeral services for Shari Lynn West Temple, 77, of Sweetwater will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013 at McCoy Chapel of Memories. Rev. Curtis Ward and Rev. Freddie Lopez will officiate with interment to follow at Temple Family Cemetery near her residence. McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 11 from 6-8 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home.
Temple died Monday, Oct. 7, 2013 at her residence in Sweetwater.
She was born April 27, 1936 in Roscoe. She married John Roger Temple on Feb. 4, 1955 at University Baptist Church in Austin.
Shari graduated from Kerrville Tivy High School in 1954. She attended the University of Texas for two years and Hardin Simmons University after that and was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority. She had lived in Sweetwater the past 38 years. She worked for Riggs and Wooten C.P.A. Firm and later worked and retired after 13 years from the Human Resources department of United States Gypsum Company.
Survivors include her husband, John R. Temple of Sweetwater; daughters, Deborah Doak and husband Ray of Sweetwater and Karen L. Graves and husband John of Sweetwater; sons, Keith A. Temple and wife Jo of Haymarket, VA and John Roger Temple, Jr. and wife Melissa of Magnolia; sister, Jolene Sollivan of Abilene; 13 grandchildren, Leslie Brooke Temple, Keith Allan Temple, Jr., Lauren Doak, Mattie Oppong and husband Daniel, Ben Temple, Spencer Temple, Amy Temple, Jordan Graves and Shelby Graves.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon West and Ettie Pearl Smith West.
Pallbearers are Keith Allan Temple, Jr., Keith Allan Temple, Sr., John Roger Temple, Jr., Jordan Graves, Ben Temple and Spencer Temple.
