The West Texas Wind Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday in Roscoe. The event will have a kid's area with bounce houses, food and craft vendors, a Mud Bog, fireworks and live music including Rance Norton and the Cadillac Boys, country music legend Moe Bandy and Band, and other area bands. The Festival continues to grow each year and Roscoe looks forward to hosting the event. Vendor check in on Saturday is from 7:30-9:30 a.m. in front of City Hall. The Roscoe Elementary Run with the Wind 5K run kicks off with registration at 9 a.m. with a $25 entry fee. The run itself starts at 10 a.m. A one mile Fun Run around the school also starts with registration at 9 a.m. The entry fee is $15.
The 4th Annual Steak Cook-Off hosted by the Roscoe Volunteer Fire Department starts with an 8 a.m. meat inspection and 10 a.m. cook's meeting. The entry fee for the cook-off is $120. Turn in times are 3 p.m. for chicken; 4 p.m. for rib eye steak; and 5 p.m. for ribs.
The Mud Bog will be held at George Parks Ball Park. Registration starts at 11 a.m. with the first run at noon. Live music will start at 6 p.m. with Rance Norton and the Cadillac Cowboys. Cook-off winners, give-away winners and Mud Bog winners will be announced at 7:45 p.m. Moe Bandy and Band will perform at 8:30 p.m. and the fireworks show will end the festivities at 9:30 p.m.
