Andrea Croan has been promoted to Circulation Manager at the Sweetwater Reporter. Croan first joined the Sweetwater Reporter's circulation department in March 2013, just after the Rattlesnake Round-Up, and has been a welcome addition to the newspaper family. Born and raised in Sweetwater, Croan lives here with her four children — Racheal, 16; Dylan, 15; Katelyn, 8; and William, 2.
In her free time, Croan is taking classes at Central Texas College. She is focusing on an Associate's Specialization in Chemical Dependency Counseling and at-risk youth. "November will mark two years of classes and I will graduate in March of 2014," she said about her schooling. "My life has completely changed from the person I used to be, and I'd like to thank all the people that helped me along the way."
Spending time with her children is a big part of Croan's life. "It's just me and the kids, so we're always together," she said. "We try and get as much family time as possible. We have movie nights and we like spending time outdoors." She and her family recently took part in the Relay for Life, where her son Dylan won Misster Relay.
Croan has a lot to brag about concerning her children. Racheal, who is a student at Sweetwater High School, won a soil and water conservation award and recently made the A honor roll. Dylan, also a student at Sweetwater High School, plays for the Sweetwater Mustangs. "I've been very involved with being a Mustang Mom this year," said Croan.
Katelyn, who attends East Ridge Elementary, is a two-year cancer survivor and has joined the Girl Scouts. Her youngest, William, attends J.P. Cowen Early Childhood Center.
When asked about her own hobbies, Croan said, "I love music. Country and rock are my favorites. I have a huge collection of guitar picks, drum sticks and autographs - I love to go and meet different artists whenever I can."
