Two area basketball teams, the Roscoe and Blackwell boys, won on Tuesday night.
Roscoe’s boys (3-2) won at Baird 55-32 for their third consecutive victory after an 0-2 start, while the Blackwell boys (4-6) beat Trent 66-51 in their game.
But in girls action on Tuesday, Roscoe and Highland both lost heartbreaking games that went to overtime. Roscoe (4-5) fell to Baird 29-25, while Highland (4-6) lost to Albany 38-34.
Albany also won the boys game by defeating Highland 59-26.
Cody Graham scored 22 points and Caden Smith (14) and Gabriel Perez (11) also reached double figures for the Roscoe boys against Baird. Caleb Magness scored 20 points, Caleb Jeter 16 and Brandon Elliott 14 against Trent to pace the Blackwell boys. Kim Norris had eight points to lead the Roscoe girls while Callie Sandusky had nine points and Kara Hughey eight to pace the Highland girls.
For Highland’s boys 0-8), Josh Andrews and Ron Covington led the way with nine points each and Landon Rowlett scored five.
