Michael Hunt of Sweet-water shot another 77 Sat-urday in the second round of the District 4-3A boys golf tournament for a 154 total, leaving him in sixth place among medalists en-tering the final round Tues-day when the tournament moves to Sweetwater.
If he maintains his position, Hunt will qualify for regional competition next week with the second-best score — trailing only Jacob Lair (150) of Monahans — among all players not on one of the top two teams.
Big Spring (608) and Abi-lene Wylie (625) currently rank 1-2, with Sweetwater in fifth place at 670.
Mason Andrews is tied for ninth after an 80 Saturday, putting him at 161. Com-pleting the team are Mich-ael Hazard (87-170), Mark Lawrence (89-185) and Jeremy Witt (93-189).
Snyder (658) and Mona-hans (659) are third and fourth in the team standings, respectively, with 18 holes left. The tournament was held Saturday at Hogan Park Golf Course in Mid-land. Sweetwater’s Clay Kitchens (111-218), Colton Scott (119-223) and Josh Procter (108-226) are com-peting as medalists. The girls district tournament ends today at Snyder with Sweetwater in third place.
