Funeral services for Lindell Keith Smith, 56, of Nolan will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Lamar Street Baptist Church in Sweetwater. Reverend Vic Meyer and Reverend Chris Stephens will officiate. Interment will follow at Nolan Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 8, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home.
Smith died Sunday, April 6, 2014, at his home in Nolan.
He was born March 12, 1958, in Sweetwater. He married Bobbi Lynn on April 1, 2005, at Nolan Baptist Church.
Lindell was a member of Nolan Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, musician, man of God, husband and friend. He was a member of the Nolan Volunteer Fire Department. He was known as “Gully” to Brackin Tate and Taelyn Nichole. He worked 15 years for Lakeside Sanitation Service as janitor at Conrad Law Office.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbi Smith of Nolan; niece, Christy Freeman and husband Jason of Roscoe and their children Devon, Dillon and Dakota; nephew, Brian Smith and wife Jami of Balch Springs and their son, Brian, Jr.; God-daughter, Katy Davis and husband Clint of Lubbock and their children, great-God-son Brackin Tate and great-God-daughter, Taelyn Nichole.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland Smith and Mildred Joy Seale Smith.
Pallbearers will be the Nolan Volunteer Fire Department.
