Funeral services for H.H. “Lindy” Lindemann, Jr., 81, of Abilene, formerly of Sweetwater, will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at McCoy Chapel of Memories. Rev. Chris Stephens will officiate and interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home. Masonic Graveside Rites will be performed by Sweetwater Lodge #571.
The family will receive friends at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 6-8 p.m.
Lindemann died Monday, April 7, 2014 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
He was born Dec. 12, 1932, in Holland, Texas. He married Norma Lou Christy on Jan. 26, 1952, in Brownwood.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Abilene and Trinity Baptist Church is Sweetwater. He worked for Rolling Plains Co-Op in Sweetwater from 1963 to 1998, when he retired. He was a member and past Master of Sweetwater Masonic Lodge #571, Waco Scottish Rite Bodies in Waco, Suez Shrine Temple in San Angelo, and was past Worthy Patron of Mamie D. Crane #1018 Order of Eastern Star. He was also a member of B.O.P. Elks Lodge #1257 and a member of Big Country Good Sam (travel club). He lived in Sweetwater since 1963 and in Abilene the last few years. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Survivors include his daughters, Sheri Kendrick and husband Ken of Sweetwater and Kathy Bowen and husband Johnny of Sweetwater; son, H.H. “Trey” Lindemann III and wife Cathy of Palestine, TX; grandchildren, Christy Bowen and Casey Bradley, Wendy Kurten and husband Shawn, Misty Heiskell, H.H. “Lindy” Lindemann IV and wife Carey, Levi Bowen and wife Ashley, Melissa Tellez and husband Octavio, Jarod Bowen and wife Abigail; 19 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Albert Lindemann and wife Barbara and Eugene Lindemann and wife Judy; and sister, Lanell Lemons.
He was preceded in death by his wife on Nov. 2, 2013; a granddaughter, Regina Renee Kendrick; his parents; a brother; and two sisters.
Pallbearers will be H.H. “Lindy” Lindemann IV, Jarod Bowen, Shawn Kurten, Levi Bowen, Octavio Tellez, Casey Bradley and Dylan Heiskell.
Honorary Pallbearers are John Meadows, Jack Kennedy, Robert Stevens and Lewis Williams.
