The Aim for Success Abstinence Education Program will be presented to all 6th-12th graders due to generous contributions from the community. All parents and community members are welcome to attend the parent meeting Wednesday night, May 11, but the parents of 6th-12th graders are strongly encouraged to attend. The parent meeting Wednesday night is prior to the student programs on Thursday, May 12. Note that the parent meeting will be held at the middle school but all the student programs will be at high school.
The parent meeting will take place on Wednesday, May 11, from 6-7 p.m. at the Sweetwater Middle School Gym.
The program for students will be presented at the Sweetwater High School Auditorium on Thursday, May 12, with the following times: 9-10 a.m. for sixth grade; 10:15-11:15 a.m. for seventh and eighth grades; 1:15-2:15 p.m. for ninth and 10th grades and 2:30-3:30 p.m. for 11th and 12th grades.
At the Parent Program, parents can preview the Aim For Success program their child will see at school. The program will give creative ideas to encourage your child to save sex for marriage. Come find out what the #1 STD is among American teenagers. It’s not AIDS, but it can be deadly. Learn why condoms do not prevent the spread of this disease. Also learn one simple thing you can do to reduce your child’s risk of becoming sexually active by 36%, using drugs by 41% and attempting suicide by 71%.
This program will clearly demonstrate to students that saving sex for marriage provides freedom from pregnancies, STDs and regret while giving them the freedom to fulfill their dreams and goals.
