A memorial service for Mary Elizabeth Gamble, 63, of Sweetwater, will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov.22, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Donald Hunt officiating.
Gamble died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital in Sweetwater.
She was born Jan. 1, 1948, in Waynesboro, PA. She married Brett Gamble on June 6, 1989, in Hagerstown, Maryland. Mary moved to Sweetwater from Lubbock in 1991. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. She was in retail sales and had been manager of the Skinny’s Store on Lamar Street from 1992 until 2009.
Survivors include her husband, Brett Gamble of Sweetwater; son, David Nelson and wife Suzanne of Sweetwater; daughters, Debra Nelson of Chicago, Illinois and Sabra Jean Butts of Henderson, Nevada; mother, Betty Butts of Las Vegas, Nevada; four grandsons, Bryan Hill of Sweetwater, John Lamb of Sweetwater, James Lamb of Sweetwater and Jarrod Nelson of Chicago, Illinois; three granddaughters, Taylor and Victoria Nelson of Chambersburg, PA and Aubrey Nelson of Chicago, Illinois; sister, Cathy Butts of Las Vegas, Nevada; and brother, Joe McFerren of Las Vegas, Nevada.
She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Butts, Sr.; and two sons, Michael and Robert Nelson.
