The "Adopt-A-Mustang" program is back again. Lady Mustang Softball players have decided to take part in the program starting Thursday, Feb. 23, for the Varsity tournament. The program is designed to let students from kindergarten through sixth grade "adopt" a high school athlete. Students have the chance to adopt a Lady Mustang varsity softball player. Registration is still $25, and students will get a t-shirt and button with their adoptees name and picture. And because the varsity players are in such high demand, students can adopt the same Lady Mustang if they want.
The students and their adopted Lady Mustangs will exchange lists of their favorite television shows, movies, games, food, etc., so that they can give each other appropriate treats and presents. Students will also be at basketball games wearing their adoptees t-shirt and button to show their support.
Proceeds from this program will also go toward yard signs for varsity sports, metallic streamers that are hung up around town and along the highway, the painting of athlete's driveways and the purchase of water, food, etc that is used by all sports departments.
