Sweetwater, TX — Glenn Franklin McCullough, 90, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012, in Lubbock Covenant Hospital. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2012, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Reverend James Baker officiating. Interment will follow at the Garden of Memories in Sweetwater under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home. A family visitation will be held one hour before service time on Saturday.
Glenn was born Dec. 8, 1921, to John Warren and Ella Mae Boen McCullough in Gustine, Texas. He lived most of his life in and around Sweetwater, moving with his wife, Frances, to Lubbock in 2006. He was a Baptist by faith.
Glenn married his childhood sweetheart, Frances Haywood, on Dec. 21, 1940, in Roby, Tx. He was co-owner (along with Frances) of Glenn’s Lawnmower Shop in Sweetwater for 22 years. Prior to that time, he was employed by Coca Cola Bottling Company for 15 years.
Glenn was predeceased by his wife, Frances; his parents, John and Ella Mae McCullough; and his brother, J. C. McCullough.
Survivors include three daughters, Lenora Burklow (Billy) of Lubbock, Linda McCracken (Johnny) of Lubbock and Judy Winter (David Perdue) of Alice, Tx. Grandchildren include Dana Russell (Chris) of Prosper, TX, Amy Varnell (Matt) of Lubbock, Elaine (John) Simons of Blessing, TX, Bridget McCracken of Austin, Sara Chandler (Burl Smith) of Corpus Christi and Michelle Cave (Danny Guerra) of Corpus Christi. Great-grandchildren are Breanna, Emily and Kellen Varnell, Sami and Kati Simons, Aidan Alcala, Parker and Peyton Chandler and Logan Smith.
Pallbearers will be Bill Burklow, Johnny McCracken, David Perdue, Matt Varnell, Chris Russell, John Simons.
