BRONTE – Billy Don Hindman, 68, of Blackwell, Texas passed away on Monday, June 4, 2012. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2012 in Blackwell Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
Billy Don was born on March 4, 1944 to Melvin and Myrldeen Hindman in Lamesa, Texas. He grew up and attended school in Blackwell, Texas where he graduated in 1963. Billy Don was a master electrician and an accomplished guitarist. He loved gardening, fishing and blue grass music.
Billy Don was preceded in death by his mother, Myrldeen Thompson; brother, Ronnie Bell; and daughters, Amber Hindman and Kelli Hindman.
He is survived by daughters, Deecie Tjaden and husband Larry of Blackwell, Traci Jordan and husband Gary of Andrews; son, Billy Hindman of Kerrville; step father, J.R. Thompson; sister, Debra Rogers; brothers, Alan Bell, Richard Bell and James Thompson; one granddaughter, Sharla May and husband Whitley of Sweetwater; four grandsons, Jake and Jathan Slaughter of Andrews, Billy and Bryan Hindman of Kerrville; and one great-grandson, Weston May of Sweetwater.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Blackwell Volunteer Fire Department.
