Many area residents attended the Sweet H2O concert on Oak Street this past Saturday, July 28, 2012, at the North Oak Arts and Entertainment District. Several musicians performed for the audience and many vendors were also set up selling food and wares to benefit their organizations and the Texas Theater. Music began at 5 p.m. and continued until midnight with several musicians taking the stage that night including Tony Barker, Tommy McCoy, Bobby Bridger and John Inmon, Lesley Sawyer with Brian McRae and Aaron Hatmaker, Hayden Huse and Blown Fuse Band, Bob Livingston, Blues Boy Willie and Teddy Jack Russell and band. The event was free to the public.
Local businesses and groups participated and promote their causes and businesses through sidewalk booths that offered information, activities and food, refreshments and merchandise for purchase. Among the participants were the local Girl Scouts organization, the West Texas Children’s Advocacy Center, The Open Window, JavaJax selling ice cream treats and the STTAR (Sweetwater Texas Theatre Acquisition & Renovation) organization selling hamburgers, chips and drinks.
