Several local Girl Scouts met at Camp Boothe Oaks this past weekend to have a camping experience and make crafts for a Girl Scout cause. The Girl Scouts spent the weekend at the camp, staying in tent units and building units.
They also cooked hot dogs in Pringles cans in the sun, made recyclable bags out of shirts and made God's Eyes out of yarn to sell at the Sweet H2O music festival on Saturday, July 28, 2012. The group raised $75 and will put the money towards a new fund being set up to restore the swimming pool at Camp Boothe Oaks.
Participating in the camp were Lesley Knight, Gabby Gomez, Morgan McFaul, Crystal McFaul, Heather Caballero, Brianna McDonald, Alicia Betancourt, Sierra Zapata, Makayla Lee, Emily Leblanc and Gabriela Olguin. Chaperones were Diana Acuña, Paula McFaul and Nolan County Service Unit Manager Judy Leighow.
