GREENWOOD — Sweet-water got back on the winning track in District 4-3A volleyball action Friday, as the Lady Mustangs went to Midland Greenwood and picked up a 3-0 sweep.
Sweetwater beat the Ran-gerettes 25-21, 25-19, 25-19 to end a two-game losing streak and keep its playoff hopes alive. The Lady Mustangs are 2-3 in district (22-13 overall) and begin the second half of district play at Monahans Tuesday.
Greenwood, which came into the match off its first victory in district against Snyder, fell to 1-4, 17-18.
“We went down there with the goal of winning in three games,” Sweetwater head coach Liz Miller said, “and we did. Our backs were against the wall. We trailed by four in the second game and our blocking was off, but after a timeout we stepped up and fixed it. We’ve got to be able to adjust to what the other team does. This was a good win for us. We’re still in (the playoff race).”
