ROSCOE — The Roscoe Plowboys evened ther rec-ord at 2-2 in District 7-A, Division II on Friday as they shut out a winless Ranger team, 52-0, before the home crowd at Plowboy Field.
One week after losing to district leader Albany 69-12, Roscoe dished out its own punishment. The Plowboys got two TD runs by Eduar-do Gallegos and one from Vincent Pantoja and Este-ban Benivamondez in rush-ing for 379 yards to Ran-ger’s 28. Gallegos ran for 165 yards and Pantoja 102. Also, Cutter Davila was 15-of-25 passing for 193 yards and had TD throws to Gallegos, Benivamondez and Shelton Toliver.
Ranger managed to get 90 yards through the air, but was intercepted four times by four different Ros-coe players.
Coming up with intercep-tions were Benivamondez, Brant Burnett, Jesus Lean-os and Kevin Lavalais.
Gallegos had scoring runs of 50 and 5 yards for Ros-coe, while Pantoja scored the first TD on a 66-yard run and Benivamondez had a 34-yard run. Toliver had a 57-yard TD pass reception, while Gallegos caught a 30-yard pass from Davila and Benivamondez had a 6-yard scoring reception.
Roscoe also came up with five fumbles as Ranger turned the ball over a total of nine times in the game to just two for Roscoe, which also had its highest scoring game of the season by far.
The Plowboys led 16-0 after one quarter and 38-0 at halftime, then scored their last 14 points in the third quarter with Gallegos getting the final points. Roscoe is back on the road to face Gorman this Friday.
