Also, the Sweetwater Woman’s Forum is again selling tickets for a $500 holiday shopping spree. The $500 will be given away at the Annual Christmas Craft Show at the Nolan County Coliseum Annex at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012.
This year’s money will be used to help with the fund for the repairs of the swimming pool at Camp Booth Oaks. The Woman’s Forum’s two main yearly projects are for the Pioneer Museum and the County-City Library that comes from the Tour of Homes and Library Tag Day.
The third project taken on by the Woman’s Forum is called “City Improvements.” This money is raised by the shopping spree for any worthy improvement in the area. The women explore suggestions of different projects in and around Sweetwater and vote for the project.
Last year, the monies raised were shared by Pioneer Museum, Senior Nutrition Activities Program (SNAP), and some money was earmarked for a bench at the WASP Museum’s new building.
Tickets are $1 each and will be sold at the Craft Show on Saturday, Dec. 1, and Sunday, Dec. 2, or can be purchased from any member of the Woman’s Forum.
