Blackwell teams lose pair at P-Rock

Blackwell lost both ends of a District 14-A, Division II basketball doubleheader at Paint Rock on Tuesday.
The Blackwell boys lost to Paint Rock 47-33 in their district opener. Mason Mag-ness paced the Hornets (2-10 overall) with 10 points while Ethan Andrews had nine points, Wade Allen and Jayden Jones six and Ted Chambliss two. Paint Rock led 12-6, 21-15 and 33-20 at the breaks.
Blackwell’s girls stayed winless in District 14-A ac-tion after losing their game to Paint Rock 57-39. The Lady Hornets (1-11, 0-3) trailed by just four, 26-22, at halftime. Stephanie Met-calf led Blackwell with 12 points while Hailey Ben-nett contributed nine points and Elizabeth Rozzlle and Brooklyn Harris six. Leon-or Castelo had four points and Shianne Solis scored two for Blackwell.
