The Highland girls improved to 15-3 this season by with a 68-26 victory over Throckmorton on Thursday, while the Blackwell boys (3-10) got their first District 14-A, Division II win Friday with a 54-24 victory over Sterling City.
Sierra Allen had 15 points, Madison Moseley 14, Han-nah Allen 11 and Beth Richburg 10 for Highland while Lora Stewart scored eight, Kaylee Martin six and Schyler Kimbrell four for Highland’s girls, who came up with 31 of their points in the second quarter.
Highland’s boys (4-10) lost to Throckmorton 61-25 as Ron Covington had eight, Brandon Stevens six, Jacob Richburg, Laramie Thomp-son and Ethan Wilson three and Kevin Box two.
Blackwell’s boys (1-1 in district) got 20 points from Wade Allen while Ethan Andrews had 11, Jayden Jones nine, Franck Cano six and Charlie Cano two. But the girls (0-4, 1-12) lost to Sterling City 61-17. No individual scoring totals were available at press time.
