The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 50 calls for service, issued no citations and made two arrests on Jan. 2, 2013.

The SPD received 17, 911 calls.

Calls for service:
• Criminal mischief — 1300 block of E. Broadway.
• Theft of firearm — 1400 block of Grand.
• Theft — 2200 block of E. Broadway.
• Family violence assault — 1600 block of Josephine.
• Theft — 400 block of NE Georgia.

Arrested by SPD:
• Charlie Sifford, 34 — Criminal trespassing/theft.
• Vicky Lynn Jeffries, 51 — Driving while license invalid.

The Nolan County Sheriff's Office (NCSO) had eight calls for service, served one civil paper and made one arrest on Jan. 2, 2013.

Arrested by NCSO:
• Joshua Ray Brunk, 23, of Sweetwater — Warrant/stalking.

Calls for service:
• Inmate transport/medical — E. 12th.
• Vehicle accident — I-20 MM 231 east bound.
• Traffic control — FM 1230.
• Civil problem/child custody — E. Oklahoma.
• MHMR transport — Big Spring.
• Information only — FM 608.
• Suspicious vehicle — CR 117/FM 608.
• Suspicious incident — Cypress, Roscoe.

Total in Custody: 37

The Sweetwater Fire Department responded to 11 ambulance calls and no fire calls over the past 24 hours.
• Eight ambulance calls in the city of Sweetwater.
• Three out of town transfers.
