During Monday morning's Nolan County Commissioners' meeting, bids were opened for various county items.
Two bids were opened for AC5 paving materials for the county from Alon and Heartland Asphalt Materials, while bids from Warren CAT and Yellowhouse Machinery were opened for road maintainers for Precincts 1 and 3.
While some discussion was held on the items, the commissioners only received the bids during the meeting. Action will be taken at a later date in order for ample time to review and evaluate the bids before making a selection.
Approval was also given to advertise for bids for a new or used dump truck for Precinct 2. In addition, the appointment of Jimmy Moses to the Sweetwater-Nolan County Child Welfare Board was approved, in which he will replace Navado O'Pryor on the board.
The burn ban for Nolan County was approved to remain in effect until the next meeting date, while the minutes of the February 25 and March 4 meetings were approved as well. Furthermore, reports were received from the Nolan County Agrilife Extension Office, the county sheriff and clerk's offices, and the Government Trapper.
