Enrollment numbers across SISD (Sweetwater Independent School District) were highlighted as part of the Superintendent’s Report given at Thursday’s meeting of the SISD Board of Trustees.
Sweetwater ISD accounts for 21 of the 62 total students at Wallace Accelerated High School. Of that total, 11 students are classified as “completers;” eight of the 11 students are now considered graduates.
The Wallace campus combines students from Sweetwater and other area school districts and serves as an AEP (alternative education program) and DAEP (discipline alternative education program) school. However, it was noted that some students are weighing the pros and cons of the campus versus home-school courses.
Even so, enrollment at the Sweetwater campuses stood at 2,220 students as of March 18. While the number reflects a seven-student decrease from the past month, it also notes that 111 students have been added to the district since the first day of classes this school year.
The report also noted some changes in paraprofessional personnel — two new hires and a termination. Tax collections were reported at $46,897,374 (or 90.74%) for the M&O (Maintenance and Operations), and $822,608 (91.11%) for the I&S (Interest and Sinking).
