Funeral services for Mary Frances Davis, 83, of Sweetwater, will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. James Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at McCoy Funeral Home.
Davis died Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, at Nolan Nursing and Rehab in Sweetwater.
She was born May 9, 1927, in Roscoe. She married Alex R. Davis on Oct. 27, 1944. She had lived in Sweetwater since 1927, and was a cafeteria worker for Sweetwater ISD for many years. She attended Westside Baptist Church and Lamar Street Baptist Church. She attended TOPS weight control meetings. Frances was a very loving caregiver. After losing her mother at age 4, her aunt Nancy and uncle Theo Powell helped raise her. Her cousins, Opal, Sonny, Don, Jim and Kenneth treated her like a sister and all have preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughter, June Jones and husband Wayne of Sweetwater and Debbie Trulock and husband Johnny of Sweetwater; sons, Delbert Davis and wife Janie of Sweetwater and Russell Alan Davis of Sweetwater; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and daughters-in-law, Bobbie Davis of Sweetwater and Sherline Davis of Sweetwater.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex on March 8, 1983; sons, Barry on July 19,1990 and Gary in September 1997; granddaughter, Hillary Shae Davis on April 2, 1982; and a son-in-law, Carol Burnett on 1998.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Jones, Jr., Michael Jones, Terry Davis, Chris Davis, Gary Adam Davis, Alex Davis, Scott Davis and Blake Burnett.
