Two local women have fulfilled a dream and opened a children's boutique in Sweetwater — The Princess and the Frog. "We have always wanted to open a children's boutique," said co-owner Misty Humphreys.
Humphreys and co-owner Shorie Henderson hosted a Grand Opening for their store, located at 1408 E. Broadway, Suite 1 (east entrance), with face painting and a bounce house for children attending the event.
The two will be running the store, along with Henderson's daughter, Skye Henderson.
The store will carry many well-known brands such as Ruffle Butts, Rugged Butts, Baby Rock Apparel, Dogwood Boys, Pout in Pink, Carter's and Hairbows Unlimited. There is also a section called "Little E's Creations" with dresses made by another local woman.
The store also offers matching sandals and hair bows with customized ribbon for girls. "We call them Head to Toe Bows and we can customize them in any color," said Humphreys.
Right now, the boutique has clothing items for boys and girls in sizes 0-6X and will soon offer clothing for children up to pre-teens in the coming months.
There is also a section for "Mom" along with J.P. Lizzy mommy bags and a wide array of jewelry and personalized shirts and flip flops.
The boutique also has a heat press and offers customized T-shirts, onesies and other clothing items to its customers.
Other items offered include a selection of refinished "shabby chic" furniture. There is also a small resale section in the store with quality used clothing.
The boutique will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and will be closed on Sundays. Call 933-4193 for more information.
