APPLAUSE Series Presents Lift Every Voice on Saturday

Continuing the tradition of presenting quality live performances that APPLAUSE puts on every year at the Sweetwater Municipal Auditorium, 2020 will be no different. The first show of the 2020 Season will be “Lift Every Voice” on February 1 and will star guest artist Leon Turner, bass. Turner is an international performer, having spent time in Rome, Italy performing the role of Sarastro in Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” and has performed with the Rome Festival Orchestra. His operatic and oratorio experiences include such roles as, Mephistopheles in Gounod’s “Faust,” Shaunard in Puccini’s “La Bohème,” Zuniga in Bizet’s “Carmen,” Jake in Gershwin’s “Porgy and Bess,” among many others. In addition to this show, there will be an art show by world-renowned artist Bob Snead of El Paso. The Event Chair for the show will be Jimmie Bender and the Reception Chair will be Joann Jones. Show time will be 7:30 p.m.
